A última ala “São Verde e Rosa as Multidões” representou as multidões de homens e mulheres, moradores de comunidades espalhadas pelo Brasil.
“São personalidades atuantes socialmente que não tiveram o devido reconhecimento. É uma referência à história do negro que morre e é esquecido, mas é um herói, um patriota”, contou o professor e mangueirense André Luiz da Silva Pereira.
A fantasia da ala representa os baluartes do samba, da Mangueira e os atores sociais que foram expostos ao longo do desfile. O traje com as cores da agremiação, um fraque brilhoso e com os detalhes exuberantes foi inspirado na roupa que Cartola usou em 1976. Nas mãos de cada integrante, bandeiras com rostos da vereadora Marielle Franco, da escritora Carolina Maria de Jesus, entre outros.
André Luiz, assim como diversos outros componentes da escola, pesquisou o enredo antes de a escola entrar na Avenida.
“Talvez só tenhamos futuro se olharmos mais atentamente para o nosso passado. Precisamos olhar mais criticamente os fatos que passaram em branco. Crimes graves, assassinatos, mortes de pessoas… É um momento para se refletir”.
Para a pesquisadora e mangueirense Vânia Balassiano, o enredo ajuda a iluminar a importância de pautar a educação, que sofre com a defasagem de determinados assuntos. Para ela, o desfile da Verde e Rosa desenquadrou a memória existente acerca da construção da história do Brasil.
“Precisamos apresentar quem são os atores sociais e quem consta nos documentos oficiais. O negro aparece em momentos muito ‘en passant’ com a chegada da corte portuguesa. Temos uma série de questões para trabalhar em relação a como isso está sendo ensinado”.
