Apesar de não ser uma data comemorativa de maneira oficial com um feriado, por exemplo, é um dia comemorativo oficial e foi aprovado como lei estadual do Estado da Guanabara (atual município do Rio de Janeiro), através da Lei n° 554, de 27 julho de 1964. A cidade do Rio de Janeiro promove diversos eventos para celebrar o dia do mais genuíno dos ritmos brasileiros. No carnaval a data é oficialmente celebrada com o lançamento oficial do álbum dos sambas-enredo do Grupo Especial.

Geralmente, motivo de festa para um povo naturalmente festeiro, o Dia do Samba tem gosto de tristeza atualmente. Com o carnaval cercado de incertezas e sem repasse de verbas, as escolas de samba sucumbem e param suas atividades. Mangueira, São Clemente e Mocidade anunciaram paralisação de suas atividades. O clima de tristeza impera no coração dos sambistas. A reportagem do CARNAVALESCO ouviu algumas figuras notáveis do mundo do carnaval sobre o dia e sua relação com o momento atual.

niver carnavalesco2019 8O diretor de carnaval da Liesa, Elmo José dos Santos, pode falar com a propriedade de quem correu da polícia quando ela perseguia os sambistas, por considerar uma atividade marginal. Elmo não esconde o sentimento de dor com os rumos atuais principalmente do desfile das escolas de samba.

“O que eu posso dizer é que fico imaginando aqueles que tanto lutaram, eram marginalizados, e conseguiram conquistar toda a sociedade com a sua arte. Se tornou um ativo econômico para o estado e o país. Estamos vendo as escolas sem poder planejar um orçamento. Um grupo de acesso com escolas sem barracão, sem assinatura de contrato. É um dia que não será de alegria. Mas nós somos resistência, vamos superar mais essa. Os nossos mestres que apanharam tanto certamente estão entristecidos em outro plano”, desabafa.

niver carnavalesco2019 50Selminha Sorriso é uma das mulheres mais importantes da história do samba. A menina que foi passista, se tornou porta-bandeira e criou seu único filho graças ao samba. A maior estrela do carnaval hoje reconhece o momento de extrema dificuldade e exige respeito àqueles que vivem da economia do carnaval.

“É difícil. Para as escolas de samba mediante essa crise que atinge os empregos das pessoas, nesse sentido não temos o que comemorar o dia. Mas devemos festejar pois estamos aqui, temos força para mudar. Já superamos tantas barreiras e obstáculos, embora seja triste sabermos que existam famílias que estejam com o próprio sustento sob ameaça. O samba não discrimina ninguém, gera emprego o ano inteiro. Muita gente vive dele. Precisamos que olhem com mais carinho para os sambistas”, diz.

Primeiro por seus enredos carregados de cultura e brasilidade, e segundo por suas opiniões sempre bastante firmes sobre os rumos da folia. Para o carnavalesco da Mangueira o samba anda para frente e quem não observar isso vai ficar para trás.

Suas manifestações que se espalham em sotaques distintos, sua diversidade estilística que faz o mundo se curvar diante de nossa música, sua história de ocupação territorial, de negritude, de dança, de canto e de expressão artística. As escolas vão mal financeiramente, isso é um fato. Mas lamentar e considerar que há motivo de tristeza na celebração do Dia Nacional do Samba deve ser restrito àqueles que tratam o samba como negócio. Se for pra ver o ‘negócio’, ele vai mal. Se for pra ver o samba ‘em natura’, o samba vai bem demais. Vai bem às segundas-feiras no Renascença e na Pedra do Sal. Lota os domingos no Cacique de Ramos. Brota novo na voz da Marina Iris, da Nina, do Renato Milagres, e de tantos outros que cantam por aí. O samba tá bem a beça no ‘Pé de Tereza’, na galera do Arruda, no Beco do Rato. Tá em alta no novo disco da Bethânia com o Zeca Pagodinho. Na Lapa. Na Glória. Na sede do Jongo da Serrinha. Na feira da General Glicério. Restringir a celebração do samba a essa maré de equívocos que enquanto ‘escola’ que cometemos, é diminuir demais o samba. O samba tá vivo no Rio, tá em alta na boca dos que cantam, e espera que as escolas não percam o ‘bonde da história’. O samba só anda pra frente. Quem não for com ele, vai ficar para trás”, analisa.

Resistência e resiliência para superar o momento

beija2019 samba 3O sentido figurado do termo resiliência é a capacidade de se recobrar facilmente ou se adaptar à má sorte ou às mudanças. É com esta premissa que os sambistas precisam encarar o momento adverso. Selminha Sorriso acredita que a melhor forma de seguir em frente é tocar seu projeto social, que há 12 anos muda a vida de crianças na cidade de Nilópolis.

“É fazer o que tem de ser feito, a festa não pode parar. A luta veio lá atrás mas o samba viveu muitos momentos de glória. O Rio de Janeiro é muito conhecido no mundo inteiro graças ao carnaval. A minha história é envolvida com o samba. Eu contribuo demais com a sociedade. Tenho meu trabalho social há 12 anos na Beija-Flor. Com apoio pequeno, fazemos o que o estado tem obrigação, cuidamos das crianças”, destaca.

final mangueira 2019 113Para Elmo, a união entre as agremiações é o segredo para se chegar forte não apenas no próximo carnaval, mas em todos.

“Eu acho que através da união das escolas de samba é possível vencer. Juntos procurar as empresas privadas que possam ajudar o carnaval. O desfile, o samba, a resistência, isso nunca vai ser perdido. O amor ao pavilhão está acima de tudo. Não podemos mais apenas depender do poder público. O carnaval jamais morrerá”, conclui.
